From an early age, we are conditioned to believe that what we think, is who we are. We forget that we ever existed before thought and language, and we become identified with the ego, or ‘false sense of self’. During childhood, many of us adopted thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, and others, in an attempt to make sense of who we are and the world that we live in. These thoughts and beliefs provided protection and security in an otherwise nonsensical and hostile world, so we developed an attachment to them and learned to trust them as true. Now in adulthood however, they most likely are limiting us from realising our truest worth and highest potential.
